Once in a while you might hear rosewood desks referred to as redwood desks. While these terms are often interchangeable, and many people find it acceptable to refer to rosewood as redwood, the two are not completely switchable.

Many antique rosewood desks are from Victorian times, and still hold and amazing and beautiful deep color in addition to fine carving and woodwork that made these writing desks some of the most highly sought after in the world at one point.
